How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve Estate Ledger
- Process your subscription and manage your account
- Send transactional emails such as receipts, password resets, and account notifications
- Send product updates and new feature announcements (you can opt out at any time)
- Respond to your support requests and questions
- Monitor and improve the security of our platform
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your property or tenant data for any purpose other than providing the Estate Ledger service to you.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard infrastructure. We use Supabase for database and file storage, hosted on servers in North America.
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
- Stored data is encrypted at rest
- Access to your data is restricted to authenticated users only
- We perform regular security reviews and updates
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers — trusted third-party services that help us operate Estate Ledger (e.g. payment processing via Stripe, email delivery, hosting). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or governmental authority
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before this occurs.
- With your consent — for any other purpose with your explicit permission
Cookies & Analytics
Estate Ledger uses minimal cookies necessary to operate the service, including authentication session cookies. We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand how users interact with the app.
We do not use advertising cookies or share data with advertising networks.

You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate information
- Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data
- Portability — export your data in a machine-readable format

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify registered users by email. Continued use of Estate Ledger after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
